两校合作历史与成果

广西科技大学与爱丁堡龙比亚大学自2015年合作举办机械工程本科教育项目以来，已连续招收十一届学生，累计培养学生约860人，办学成果丰硕，社会认可度持续提升。

·权威认证：机械工程项目两次通过教育部中外合作办学评估，并三度获批延长招生有效期，充分体现办学质量与规范管理水平。

·荣誉奖项：2023年，两校荣获英中贸易协会颁发的第六届英中苏格兰商业大奖“年度教育合作伙伴奖”，充分体现了双方国际合作办学的卓越品质与广泛影响力。

·师资建设：英方于2019年、2020年分两期为近百名中方教师开展为期一年的英国高等教育课程培训，显著提升了中方教师的国际化教学能力与课程设计水平。

·学生交流：双方积极搭建双向互动平台，已有超过200名中方师生赴英参加短期实践及学位课程学习；英方学生亦多次来访柳州，参观上汽通用五菱、柳工等龙头企业，并开展“反向留学”，深化文化与产业理解。

·科研合作：2019年，两校联合中国、英国、老挝、泰国、越南、马来西亚、匈牙利8所高校，成功申请英国文化教育协会与中国教育部联合资助项目，聚焦工业4.0背景下的国际教育与研究合作。2020年两校再度获得英国文化教育协会资助，探索将英国现代生物基建筑技术应用于中国民族地区建筑遗产保护。2023年，中英约60名师生在广西完成世界首个竹木复合网壳结构建筑，该项目被列为图灵计划（Turing Scheme）示范项目，获中外媒体广泛报道。

·博士联合培养：两校联合培养博士研究生项目于2020年启动，迄今已有6名师生赴英攻读博士学位，为两校高层次人才合作奠定坚实基础。

Partnership History and Achievements

Since GXUST and Edinburgh Napier launched their joint undergraduate programme in Mechanical Engineering in 2015, they have enrolled eleven consecutive cohorts of students, educating approximately 860 students in total. The collaboration has delivered significant results and continues to gain increasing recognition.

·Authoritative Accreditation: The Mechanical Engineering programme has twice passed the Ministry of Education’s Assessment of Sino-Foreign Cooperative Education, and has been granted three extensions to its recruitment validity period, fully demonstrating the quality of the programme and its high quality and robust governance.

·Awards and Honours: In 2023, the two universities were awarded the "Education Partnership of the Year" at the 6^th China-Scotland Business Awards hosted by the China-Britain Business Council, highlighting the outstanding quality and broad influence of their international collaboration in education.

·Faculty Development: In 2019 and 2020, Edinburgh Napier delivered a one-year UK Higher Education training programme in two phases to nearly 100 GXUST faculty members, significantly enhancing their international teaching capabilities and curriculum design skills.

·Student Mobility: The two universities have actively established two-way exchange platforms. Over 200 GXUST students and staff have visited the UK for short-term practice programmes and degree studies. Meanwhile, ENU students have made multiple visits to Liuzhou, touring leading enterprises such as SAIC-GM-Wuling and Liugong, and participating in "reverse study abroad" activities to deepen their understanding of Chinese culture and industry.

·Research Collaboration: In 2019, the two universities led a consortium of eight institutions from China, the UK, Laos, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Hungary, successfully secured a joint  project funded by the British Council and the Chinese Ministry of Education, focused on international education and research collaboration in the context of Industry 4.0. In 2020, the two universities received another grant from the British Council to explore the application of modern British bio-based architectural technologies to the preservation of architectural heritage in China’s ethnic minority regions. In 2023, around 60 GXUST and Edinburgh Napier students and academics completed the world’s first bamboo-timber hybrid gridshell structure in Guangxi. This project was listed as a Turing Scheme demonstration project and received extensive media coverage both in China and internationally.

·Joint PhD Supervision Programme: A joint PhD supervision programme was launched in 2020, and to date six students and staff members have gone to the UK to pursue doctoral degrees, laying a solid foundation for high-level talent cooperation between the two institutions.
