中方院长寄语：

每一次技术浪潮的涌起，都在重新定义工程师的价值。今天，人工智能、数字经济与智能制造正深刻重塑世界。培养什么样的人、如何回应产业的真实需求，这是我们办学之初便反复思考的问题。

广西科技大学爱丁堡龙比亚联合学院的成立，正是我们对这一思考的回应。联合学院依托广西科技大学扎根工业沃土的扎实底蕴，与英国爱丁堡龙比亚大学在工程教育与科研转化领域的突出优势，致力于培养具备跨学科知识、国际视野与卓越工程实践能力的复合型人才。

在这里，中英两校十余年的合作积淀化为日常教学的一砖一瓦。学生不出国门，即可接受英方核心课程的全英文教学，享受与爱丁堡龙比亚大学本土学生同等的数字学习资源。更重要的是，柳州作为国家重要的工业基地，提供了天然的实践场——从新能源汽车到智能装备，产业一线的真实问题将进入课堂、融入项目、贯穿毕业设计。

我们相信，好的工程教育应当让学生站在前沿，也扎根大地。因此，联合学院不仅在课程体系上与国际接轨，更在培养路径上为学生提供多元选择：赴英交换学习、海外深造规划、本地龙头企业的实习通道，都在助力每一位学生找到适合自己的成长节奏。

同学们，求学之路从无捷径，但这里有值得信赖的师长、开放的实验室和愿意陪你试错的团队。愿你们沉下心来打磨本领，也保有好奇与勇气，在联合学院的四年中踏实成长、自由逐梦。

Message from the Vice Dean of the Joint College

I am delighted to extend my warmest congratulations on the establishment of the Guangxi University of Science and Technology Edinburgh Napier Joint College. This landmark partnership builds on our successful collaboration that began in 2015, and marks an exciting new chapter in our shared commitment to international engineering education.

Named after John Napier, the 16th-century mathematician and inventor of logarithms, our University is located in Edinburgh—Scotland's capital and a leading hub of technological innovation. We are ranked 401–500 globally in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2023, and 1^st among Modern Universities in Scotland (THE 2025). We take great pride in these achievements—we are one of only a few universities to have received the prestigious Queen’s Anniversary Prize twice (2009 and 2015), and we have been ranked 1^st in Edinburgh for student satisfaction for seven consecutive years (2020–2026).

At Edinburgh Napier, student success and career development are at the heart of everything we do. We are the top Scottish modern university for research power and research impact (Research Excellence Framework 2021), with 83% of our research rated as “world-leading” or “internationally excellent,” and 100% of the research impact in our Computer Science discipline receiving the highest possible rating. The Joint College offers a "4+0" dual degree pathway. You can study entirely in China while receiving an authentic British engineering education, delivered jointly by faculty from Edinburgh Napier and GXUST. You will have full access to our Moodle virtual learning environment, digital library, and other online resources—just like our students in Edinburgh. You will also have the opportunity to apply for a semester or a full year of exchange study in the UK, experiencing Scottish culture and academic life firsthand.

Our programmes in Electronic and Electrical Engineering, Computer Science (AI), and Product Design combine project-based learning with real industrial challenges. 95% of our graduates are in employment or further study within 15 months of grduation. An Edinburgh Napier degree is recognised worldwide, giving you a strong advantage when applying for master's programmes at top global universities or seeking positions with leading international companies. Notably, J.K. Rowling, author of the Harry Potter series, is one of our most distinguished alumnae—her achievements continue to inspire our students to pursue their dreams.
